The violinist Veda Runge,studied at the Royal Conservatoire of   Scotland
(1988-1992) under the pedagogy of Peter Mountain.

During her time at the Royal Conservatoire,she performed in 
masterclasses and concerts with the violinists Leon Spierer,Emanuel
Hurwitz,Leonard Friedman,cellists Paul Tortelier,Alexander Baillie,and
the Vanbrugh,Talich and Alberni string quartets.

Representing RCS,Veda’s quartet performed at the International String
Quartet as a soloist in the final of the
AIYFShell Expro International concerto competition and was Leader of  
the festival youth orchestra.

As a professional,Veda initially embarkedona UK orchestral career,
freelancing with the Scottish Ballet Orchestra,Scottish Chamber
Orchestra,Northern Ballet Theatre,BBCSSO,English Northern
Philharmonia/Opera Northand Scottish Opera,performing under
eminent conductors and with internationally acclaimed soloists in
venues such as the Edinburgh Usher Hall,Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
and the Royal Albert Hall,London.

Veda returned to solo violin performance and chamber music when
invited to give are citalin the Edinburgh Festival in 2000 with pianist
William Alexander Eddie,aprotégé of Claudio Arrau.Subsequently, she
continued to give recitals and perform chamber music across Scotland
in a variety of venues with fellow professional musicians.

Equally at home in an intimate chamber music setting or on the concert
stage and platform,Veda Runge is a versatile violinist who performs the
violin repertoire from the baroque era to the 20th century. She is
dedicated to the expansion of her performing career across Europe,in
addition to championing the performances of new compositions by
contemporary composers.
